Apply for the What the Hack? Hackathon

During the 48-hour hackathon participants will work in a team developing an application that aims to facilitate mobility in the region of Carinthia. The application should allow users to easily navigate the region, regardless of the chosen means of transport. Instead of buying tickets, mobile phone should collect all the information on the selected route, offer the best options and mark each check-in and check-out for different means of transportation – whether it is a bus, train, taxi, car sharing or cycling.

 

Applications for hackathon are open to all programers, hackers, developers, designers and interface experts who are at least 18 years old, and have at least 3 years of professional experience. They should also be fluent in English and have a residence in the Alpine-Adriatic region (Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia). The total number of participants for the hackathon will be 24, with 4 representatives from each country.

The awards for the most successful teams are 5.000, 3.000 and 2.000 EUR, while the costs of transportation, accommodation, meals and mentoring will also be covered.

 

The organizer of the hackathon is the Austrian organization Gain and Sustain, and the partners are HUB387 (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Coworking Croatia (Croatia), Warehouse (Italy), Polygon (Slovenia), Startit and Nova Iskra (Serbia).
